Hi everyone, I've been refining my settings recently and wanted to get some community input on how you handle high-fat/high-protein meals (pizza, pasta with heavy sauce, BBQ, etc.).
Even with properly tuned basal rates and carb ratios, I often see delayed spikes 3 to 4 hours post-meal. The algorithm tries to compensate once blood sugar starts drifting up, but by then it feels like playing catch-up.
For those using dynamic sensitivity settings (like Dynamic ISF in AAPS/Trio) or extended/e-carbs bolusing strategies:
- Do you manually enter extended carbs over a specific time window?
- Have you had better success adjusting profile percentages/temp targets ahead of time?
- How aggressively do you let the loop correct the tail-end rise?
Curious to hear your strategies and what has worked best for your Time in Range on these tricky meals.
